I’m kicking around the idea of getting a c4, about 90% decided. I’m really wanting a lt4 or if I’m lucky a lt5. I’ve had a c5 z06 and loved it however, the c4 is a little lacking in comparison to performance of today, understandably. Which lead me to look a supercharger kits for the c4 but I cannot find much info regarding how much power the bottom end can handle or how reliable the opti spark system is when supercharged. I figured you guys would know the answers to my questions and ad any feed back whatsoever if you, yourself have owned a supercharged c4.
Your basic pro-charger kit that adds 100-150hp will be well within the limits of the LT1/LT4. I've read the limit is somewhere around 800hp but don't quote me on that.
I have a 1995 LT1 in my car. It has a 220/230 cam, the block was decked .018" to give a 035" quench with the stock pistons and a .027" head gasket. The compression ratio is 10.9:1 and I run a Vortech supercharger with 10 lbs boost on 91 octane California gas with 60 lb injectors. I also installed a water/methanol injector that works over 5 psi boost. Runs great and no problems. Make sure you get the computer retuned before you start making boost.

If you get a later model C4 with the vented opti, they are more reliable. You can also go to a coil on plug conversion, one of the more affordable options is the Bailey coil on plug setup. If you stick with the stock opti, you would be wise to go to the MSD cap and rotor, along with a MDS-6?? box to get reliable ignition.
Thanks for all the info guys! I didn’t know the internals were that strong. I figured safe hp was around 400 to the ground. Not bad for a powdered metal rotating assembly.
What about the torqhead kit? Looks pretty legit, if you ask me but I’m a novice with old school sbcs.

Torqhead is not currently needed. .Initial rear wheel horsepower after installation may give you between 411/435 which is plenty for the street. Definitely retune the system. Also make sure the water injection works.
