Default Instrument Problems

This is a bit hard to describe, but... the readings on my dash ('85, digital gauges) started jumping all over the place. None of the readings mean anything--they're pure gibberish. The longest this lasted was about ten minutes, then things went back to normal. When it's happening, every gauge on the dash is blinking and displaying things that are neither numbers or letters; again, it's pure gibberish. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Josh ('85, 4+3; bone stock)

Default Re: Instrument Problems (bogus)

Make sure it's plugged in real good first. The connector can loosen and cause trouble. Then make sure the battery connections are clean and tight (actually do that first). Make sure the battery is ok........... then be sure the ground wire on the left side of the belhousing is good and tight....it's not the bottom bolt it's the next one up and is kinda hard to do much with. Last but not least you may even want to (need to) pull the dash and resolder the connectors that connect the front half to the back half. BATTEE has a real good article on the entire repair procedure that has helped me big time.
