I recently bought a '94 six speed and have found out that none of the back up lights work. I pulled the plug off the backup light switch in the transmission and found that power is going into the switch and a continuity test proved the wires to the back up lights are fine. Hence, I think the switch must be the problem. My question is whether the switch is something that can be adjusted or whether it must be replaced. Also, what is the easiest way to remove the switch (can it be removed without dropping the transmission or anything serious like that?)? Any advice would be very helpfull. Thanks.
(P.S. This is my first post, so if I screwed something up, let me know.)

Welcome to the forum...you did "great" on your first post. First, you might try testing the reverse lights to see if they come on in any other gear. If they do, then just adjust the switch accordingly. With voltage to the switch, and continuity to the sockets, it would appear that the connections and wiring are sound. If your lights don't come on in any gear, I would recommend that you replace the switch (on the side of the tranny).
With your new vette, I would recommend the purchase of a manual. There are other sources, but this link seems to be the most economical, and provides a GM manual for $35: http://www.factoryautomanuals.com/

Welcome to the forum!
I also have a '94 6 sp and have been down this road myself. What you describe is actually a very common malady with the ZF tranny. The switch is most likely the culprit and you can replace it without dropping the tranny, but it is not easy to get to. Make sure you have plenty of beer and four letter words handy when you begin the repair. :steering:
