Engine install
Does anyone know where I can find a thread for installing a motor? I tried doing a search for it and must have missed it.
I would think that with the amount of people that use this site and swap out/ rebuild motors that someone would wright a type of evaluation/review of their experience doing so.
You know some thing that would support their shop manual done by "common folks".
What do you think?

I guess reassurance or experience. We (the 4 of us) spent a few hours the other night trying to drop the motor in. We just could'nt get everything lined up. Then a neighbor came along(with experience) and 15 min. later it was in.
My experience is that there is for some reason something left out that's important. I was just looking for info from another source that I could go over prior that would afirm orf agment the manual.

The vettes are just a bitch to horseshoe it in there! The firewall is so close to the back of the engine that you have no room to move it around. What I did was mount one engine mount IN the car and then only half of the other one in the car and the other half of the engine block. We dropped the engine in and got the left side in enough to pin it into place and then worried about moving it to line up the bolt holds on the passenger side mount to the block.
