I took my 1996 C4 Corvette into have a smog test and on my way to this test station, the check engine light came on. When they diagnosed it it was the two 02 sensors, inasmuch as I didn't want to go through the inconvenience of having to come back again, I had them install two new O2 sensors. When I arrived at the gas station I had my radio turned off and the air-conditioning turned off. When I went in to pick up the car the key was in the ignition. So I paid the bill and I was informed that I had to drive the car at least 80 miles so the O2 sensor would develop a pattern before I could have a smog test. When I arrived home that radio was playing on the station I had not programmed previously when I opened the door the radio did not turn off as it usually did. I lock the car got out of the car and close the door and the radio continued to play. I unlocked the car got back inside turned off the radio bought the car and close the door. I came up the next morning got in the car to start off on the 80 mile trip and realize that I've forgotten something inside the house particularly my wallet. When the house came back outside in the car would not allow the key to go into the ignition I Jimmy did around to no avail. And now the key will not allow me to insert the key into the ignition switch. Has this happened to anyone else have you got a clue?
I would appreciate any and all hope on this matter.
Unfortunately the steering column will need to come apart to get to the ignition switch to see if it has become loose or if the tumbler has slipped out of place.
