Default Heads, Cam, Intake and Headers

Hi Everyone! I am in the process of gathering parts for my build. I have a 1990 With a 6 speed manual trans bone stock. I have a few questions and am just looking for some pointers in the right direction. I just purchased a full super ram intake along with the accel base and a lingenfelter I believe 58 mm tb. I plan on getting the LPE 219 cam and some AFR 195 heads along with some hooker headers. I have 3 questionns; What part number for the AFR heads should i be looking for? And will my throttle body work? It came off of an 88. I know the cables are different but is there a way to make it work? I.e. adapter or swaping the parts from my stock tb. Lastly, i just purchased the bosch III injectors from fuel injector connection that are stock replacments. Will I need different injectiors running with this set up ? Additionally, if anyone has the AFR heads and is looking to sell them please don’t hesitate to PM me.

TIA Everyone always appreciate the help!

I'm using AFR 195 Eliminators X1040F. The TB will work if it came off a TPI car or another SR, mine is a BBK unit. There is an adapter bracket for the throttle cables, but I don't think its required to do that, just swap and adjust the cables correctly.

You will probably want more fuel than those Bosch injectors, FIC will tell you what you need given this combination. Probably something like 30lb/hr on a 350.

My combo is similar, bigger cam and engine, and I'm running 42lb/hr.

Thank you so much Vader! Really appreciate the info! I’ve been racking my brain and looking all over for the last week or so. Out of curiosity how much power do you think this combo will put down? I know you said you have a larger motor is it still pretty streetable?

I make about 500, on a 398. Little more torque. My cam is a bit bigger, and I'm running a bit over 11.5:1, so 93 octane only.

You should make north of 400 with the tuning done. Yes its streetable. You can get 23-24mpg hwy still with a good tune.

I will warn you that you MUST have the supports for the AC Compressor in place with the headers, may require a little fabbing, but if you ever want to run your AC, better have it. The bracket that holds the tensioner and Compressor is cheap *** pot metal, that compressor torques the metal and without more supports, it'll snap the bracket and take out the tensioner as well. In 1990 there are several little support pieces they added over the years to the bracket.

The bracket itself is unobtanium now, best bet is a junkyard if you snap one.

Awesome thank you so much and i really appreciate the heads up about the AC i had no idea. And finding out when it breaks would not be fun. Do you run an adjustable FPR and what kind of fuel pump do you run? Thanks again for all the insight i really appreciate it!

Walbro 255 from Racetronix, along with the wiring harness upgrade inside and outside the tank.

I run a TPiS AFPR yes, but rarely touch it.
