how did you determine the ecm is bad, do you have any shorted injectors that are killing one of the quad drivers???

Repeated ECM problems usually do come down to quad drivers as already mentioned.

Your best bet for troubleshooting is to check once the friend ECM is out. I've got a listing of different resistance values for a couple pins that contain quad driver stuff. If I get my scanner working with a USB patch under XP, I can scan it in for you. Good luck, -Matt-

Hehe...sorry.

Think of a quad driver as a glorified relay.

Some things in the ECM just use a simple transistor. Like when the fuel pump runs for the first 2 seconds, there is a transistor that acts like a switch to actually send the feed signal to the fuel pump relay in the engine compartment.

Quad drivers on the other hand are big switches. Four injectors are tied to one and 4 are tied to another. If you short out an injector clip when the engine is running, the quad driver will overheat and fry itself into a beautiful paperweight. Your injectors for that side wouldn't fire. A couple things use quad drivers besides the injectors, but "brevity is the soul of wit".
