Default 1991 LED Conversion - Need some Help

Using some older threrads here I'm working on going LED. I replaced the turn signal relay and front and rear turn signals work and brake lights work. Problem is my rear running lights and parking lights dont work. Is this because I need to relace the hazard relay also? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

where did you get your led lights? I am also doing a led conversion and I also had the same problem.
I have super bright led installed front and rear.
I was using a led flasher from Zip.
I also installed load resistor on each side in the rear. My turns brake and hazards worked.
When I turned on parking/headlights the rear lights would not come on and turn signal lights would not work. I finally discovered that if I removed the rear lights and replaced it with a 51 led all would work. I ordered four 51 red lights from SB along with a flasher from them.
Installed all and everything works. The only problem now is with led in the front when I turn on the parking lights the turn signal arrows would light up. I am waiting on load resistor to add to the front to correct this. In regards to the hazards I am using my original flasher and all is good.
I hope this helps. Let me know about your led lights and if you want I can give you the part number I used.
Thanks Hawkeye56

I used 1156, 1157 and 24 led bulbs as specified on a thread here that said you only need to replace the turn signal and hazard flasher relays to led relays to convert to leds. I changed the turn signal relay but cant find the hazard relay on my 91. I was hoping to get some help finding the hazard relay.

I can not say for sure on a 91, On a 95 it is under the passenger hush panel over on the far right.
I do not believe that the hazards flasher is the problem. Tail lights are a completely different circuit. For a quick trouble shooting remove the rear led bulbs and install your regular bulbs to see if the tail lights come on.
If they do then you have the same problem as I had.
One other thing is I am guessing that you installed led lights on the side marker lights.
That may also cause a problem since the marker lights receive the ground through the front turn signal bulbs. I also tried leds their and had problems and put the regular bulbs back in.
Keep us posted

This helps alot. How exactly did you get everything to work? What was the part number you used? The hazard flasher does activate the tail lights thats why I thought it could be the problem. I have no resistors installed. I'm going to try your suggestions now and let you know what I find. Thank you very much,

No I do not believe the Hazzard flasher controls the tail light running circuit. Yes it does control the turn signal circuit.
The Super Bright LED that I used in the rear to correct my problem was 1157-R51-PT Red Color. The Flasher was CF12ANL-01, The load resistors RL-650-K-C two in the rear and there will be two in the front.
I followed the same LED Thread that you are, But it did not work out for me exactly as he had wrote it. Too help me figure out all of my problems was trail and error and then I confirmed my thoughts with a really good Tech at SB named Andy. If your turns are working properly you will probably not need the load resistors. The best trouble shooting I did was to put all original bulbs back in and then slowly add the LED bulbs and I recorded the results just so I did not forget a combination.
If you would like to visit over the phone please send me a PM and I will give you my cell #.
Thanks

Thank you!! After doing the troubleshooting you suggested with no joy I consulted my FSM as all here always suggest and went through the no parking/tail light checklist. The 15 amp tailight fuse in the main fusebox was box blown. Replaced that and all seems to be working fine with all led bulbs and just the led turn signal relay. Fog lamps still not led Could I be missing something? The only problem I have now is that the hazard lamps blink very slowly - I assume this is why it was suggested I replace the hazard flasher which I would do if I could find it. I hear it when its on but sooms to be above the "stereo reciver" in that sealed space above the passenger kickpanel. Seems like every year is different in one way or another. Any way thank you for all your help and please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks again.

I would consult your FSM on the hazard location.
Normally with led and standard flasher they would blink very fast. Do you have led in your side marker/ turn signal? Are they working correctly? If so I would interested to know where you got your 24 bulb.

The 24 bulbs that seem to be working are these:

Amazon Amazon

The relay I have in there is here:

Amazon Amazon

I also bought 24s from superbrightleds.com but didn’t try them b/c above were working.

Side marker and turn signal bulbs are all led and seem to be working correctly thus far.

For front turn signal bulbs I used these in amber.

And for rear brake/signal and front side cornering bulbs bulbs I used these in white:

I’ll keep trying to get to the hazard relay and keep you posted. Did you do fog lights? If yes what did you use and what mod did you do to get them to work?

In regards to the 24 LED from Amazon do you want to sell two of them? My Super Bright 24 will not light correctly with the running lights on and activating a turn signal.
For the fog lights I purchased them from Vette Lights, For the mod, I cut the green wire as the thread tells you to do and I grounded it. I plan on getting LED Head lights from Vette Lights early next spring.
Thanks
