Default Airflow feedback

I'd really appreciate feedback on an idea I'm working on. I've replaced my supercharger to the procharger p600. I have to deal with kali smog. Part of the EO number is it has to be intercooled. So water injection is out. I have a procharger IC that has the intake on the driver side, and fits on top on the radiator shroud where the air filter was. In front of the radiator would cause overheating so I'm not considering that placement.
The standard to install is cut out an opening in the upper radiator shroud and it is fed air from in front of the radiator.
Now my thoughts are if I open it up to the radiator space, but also cut a hole in the hood just above it and install a hoop scoop to shoot air thru the IC from the hood scoop-which should also increase airflow to the radiator. I already have hood vent over the wheel well areas that decreases under hood heat-I'm also looking at a vent just behind the radiator to help air/heat escape.
It should work well-yes?

Back in 1984 Ford put out their SVO Mustang which was a turbo-charged 4 cylinder (my dad had one, it is currently stored out back by my barn for my son). It had a hood scoop that shoved air through the intercooler they used.

Their intercooler was horizontal so it got the full benefit of the airflow.

You will need a way to direct the airflow through the IC otherwise it is going to take the path of least resistance and go where ever the lowest pressure area is.
