Bought this top the other day at the local junkyard got a great deal on it.. Anyway front bracket seems way off how do I fix this? It’s very loose seems to not want to stay in place like my fiberglass top.
Are you unable to tighten the conical locator pin? Is it stripped or frozen?
I had an '85 and once the roof panel is placed on the car and positioned correctly you need a very thin open-end wrench to tighten the conical locator pin. Once that's done the top is properly fitted to your car.
didnt know you could tighten the locator cone…. You know what size wrench 😂
I no longer have my 1985 Vette and service manuals so I can't answer your question about the wrench size. However, someone on this forum may be able to answer your question. I do recall that the special (thin) wrench was listed in the GM C4 Service manual along with its part number. Maybe that will shed some light on what you need to do to get proper fitment of your new roof panel.
