GM Security Question
This may be a stupid question for some but I have had my car for about 6 months now and when I first purchased it I noticed that on the drivers side panel deep under the dash there is lock of some type. It has those keys that are circular. I have a friend that told me that comes with corvettes and is a security alarm. Now, my question, is it a security alarm to disable the car? If it is, who can I contact to get a key for it?

I have an 86 and have not seen one on mine or in any of the three motors manals that I own that deal with my year. It maybe an aftermarket modification. :confused:

My 85 also had a similar type lock but it was aftermarket. It locked the hood and also had an ignition kill swith. When I bought the car, I did'nt get a key for the round security lock and all the locksmiths in my area told me that they could'nt make a duplicate. They told me to take it out of the car and they could put a new lock cylinder in it.
