Default Rear Camera C4 placement?

To those who have rear cameras, how have you mounted them.

I am looking at these mirror mounts with the front and rear cameras

https://WOLFBOX Rear View Mirror Camera:Mirror Dash cam

WOLFBOX Rear View Mirror Camera:Mirror Dash Cam Front and Rear 4K+2.5K for Car with 12" Full Touch Screen, Waterproof Backup WDR Camera, Night Vision, G-Sensor, Parking Assist,Free 32GB Card & GPS https://a.co/d/8KVeQjV

And am trying to find a good place to put the camera without drilling holes. The only thing i have though of is to make a thing that attaches to the license plate light.

I do not want a wireless camera. Having to recharge batteries is a hassle and ill forget to put it back on the car. And when you take it off and go out, obviously something is going to happen.

If you could provide pictures that would be awesome!

That is exactly what I did. I made a bracket that attaches to the license plate light on the inside of the bumper and attached a rear view camera to the bracket just to the left of the light. No cutting of the bumper required.

I mounted my backup camera to the license plate. I'll try to remember to take a picture of the bracket when I get home this afternoon.

This is mine. It is wired. I followed an existing loom through the driver's side wheelwell, under the rocker cover and through and existing hole in the firewall. I installed it at the same time that I put the radio in.

The bracket came with the camera if I remember correctly. It could have been this one. I would have to go back and look.

Wireless backup cameras do not have batteries in them. All the backup cameras are connected to the backup lights and go on when in reverse. The wireless ones have a small transmitter attached (the size of 2 lima beans) and there is a similar sized small receiver connected to the display screen. I had them in my C5 and currently in my '90 ZR-1. They work flawlessly and avoid running wires through the car. The easiest ones to install fit over the license plate frame and the wire passes right through to the area inside the rear deck to access the reverse lights.

I mounted one above the rear license plate. Hardest part is wiring through the rear panel (was a tight area). Works great.

I mounted mine (as pictured above) after trial and error. With it the way it is, I got the best view. Could be the camera itself that I have, but that position gave me the best, undistorted view.

Just FYI. The license plate frame cameras and ones mounted to the plate are illegal if they cover any part of the lettering on the plate. This includes the state name.
it gives a trooper a reason to pull you over.

Although I didn't take the one on my car off, this other bracket that I have is basically the same. Goes behind the plate and the camera hangs over. Never had any police issues about it but have been pulled over for speeding and they didn't say anything about it.

Mine probably would also, but I took the camera off the bracket and swapped it around to get the best picture. As I said, maybe it is just the particular camera that was in the box that I bought that I had to do that to.

Also looking at it shot from an angle, so looking from behind it doesn't obstruct the view of the plate. If they want to pull you over, they will find some bullsh*t reason to do so. The city where I went to school had to give one of my classmates a $10,000.00 gift.

It's a touch screen radio with backup camera interface. Unfortunately no longer in production. Check out Crutchfield.

www.crutchfield.com

They provide filters so you can select backup camera input, etc.
