Hey Guys.... Sorry its not my car, nor is it a Corvette... but its still a LT1 Camaro. This guy got 26hp to the wheels with the 1.6 roller rocker mod. I think thats pretty darn good

Hey, not to knock your post about the dyno results after the 1.6rrs, but if those guys are that 'challenged', you think they could have messed up reading the dyno result? :lol:

there were some really stupid things said on there. I remember when kevs dad was doing my rockers... I was thinking as soon as i saw that "i dont remember it being that hard, then again - he makes everything look easy :skep:"
yeah, there are some misinformed guys (ie 14&13 sec blown 383s?), but we have some VERY VERY smart guys on there like Injuneer, RKrause and Mr.Horsepower. Brilliant guys to say the least.
and i've seen some stupid poopie here too- Kev and I have had a good laugh on more than one occassion :lolg:

Oh, and deciding not to read the thread, I don't know the answer to this question...did the guy do the before and after dyno testing on the same dyno? Because if he did, then either other things were done/fixed, or the dyno guy tweaked the calibration. There is no WAY he gained 26 rwhp by increasing valve lift by ~0.030". Won't happen (at least not on a street LT1).

what we have to remember, even with the rampent stupidity on that forum, is that the GM factory rockers are junk.
they vary from 1.4:1 all the way up to 1.55:1... and it's a crap shoot as to what your engine gets on any given day. There is also the reality of the flex.
so... if this poor guy had 16 of the worst rockers on earth, I can believe he picked up 26hp. Also, if he had worn out springs... lighter retainers... it all does add up.
I know its a stretch... but not outside the relm...

Just to add to the Drain sergion Comment Over, last weekend I pulled the engine in my 94. I had help from a friend and one of his co-workers who happends to be a (dare I say it) a Ford engineer. He is very knowlageable On computer tuning LT1's. (he has a hot camed 95 camaro that runs 11.90's) We were discussing web info for LT1's and he said that "the maturity and quality of info have gone way down in the LT1 sections of the camaro boards." He also said that the guys that really knew there stuff have gone onto LS1's

when i added march pulleys and 1.6 rrs with new lt1 valve springs and a crane hi-6 ignition on a stock LT1, i gained 29 rwhp. Assuming i gained 10 from the pulley, that means 19 for the 1.6s. ABsolutely incresed the top end of the LT1, pulled much harder to redline with them. :grouphug:

I was told I couldn't use 1.6 rockers on my engine because of the .500 lift cam. At least the gain would be negligible. So I guess the cam has a lot to do with the end result of the new ratio rockers.
