Hello,
I just installed a new starter motor due to the old one being heat soaked, and it turned over great 4-5 times in quick succession with no issues whatsoever. I took the car around the block (2 minute drive) and after shutting the car off, I now have no crank and not even a sign that the starter solenoid is even engaging. I checked my clutch safety switch with a multimeter, and the switch seems to work (continuous when pedal not depressed, open circuit when depressed), but when I checked the voltage across the two pins of the wire going to the clutch safety switch, it seems to have 0 voltage being sent to it. I also jumped the safety switch completely with no avail. The accessory mode turns all the gauges on with no issues and the battery reads a healthy voltage as well. Due to the clutch safety switch getting no voltage to it, I think that my issue has to do with the ignition relay since the issue seems to be between the key turning and clutch safety switch. Can anyone speak to this issue or send a picture of the relevant wiring diagram from the FSM? Thank you!
Anytime you do a repair and it falls on it's face, go back to what you touched. Grab battery cable give a tug make sure clean and tight. Make sure all the starter connection are good
From what I've read, if the fusible links are cooked, then the dash will not work. My dash works so I'm not sure if that's the case, but I don't know if that bit of info is true, do you know if that's true or false?
I'm working from 30 years memory there are several 2 maybe 3 that cover different circuits, Hopefully WV-ZR1 drops by he has a way of pulling up wiring diagrams. Will give it a try and see if I can find it

I see, thanks for the help, I'll go see if I can do some digging online or wait for someone else to maybe post a photo from the manual or something. Thanks again!
I had the same thought about the switch as well, but I tested it many times because I thought that was very strange (its very possible the switch is also busted). However, I jumped the connector with a wire across the connector and still no results. I also tested the voltage at the wires just like you said and it still read 0 volts compared to ground. As far as I can tell, the factory alarm system isn't working (no lights like you said), and I thought VATS wasn't on corvettes until 86 but I'm not sure if the alarm you're talking about is the same thing. I'll try jumping it from the battery like you said and see where that gets me soon. I have to pull the steering column apart anyways to fix the floppiness so I guess when I do that I can start probing around in there with the meter. Thanks!
