Any of you guys install the key reminder switch. Looks tricky and there is some type of spring in there. Does if have to be installed with the ignition tumbler out?
It's not tricky. The little tab of the spring hooks on the top edge of the switch that faces the column and goes the length of the bottom. With the cylinder installed and bolted down, slide the reminder switch in as an assembled unit with the spring down and the 2 contacts pointing up and the Left just slide it in I believe with key out. When finish 1/2 the cylinder lock down bolt should be covered with switch

I noticed that some of the youtube videos say put the switch in first before the ignition tumbler but you have to break the tab so it sits flat. What you say makes sense that it covers the bolt. Why would you have to break something to get it in.
You don't it should just jiggle in, sometimes the little spring clip comes off and is a bit Frustrating because then you need to reassemble and try again. A stout set of tweezers or fine needle nose pliers can make the job easier, do to big fingers in small places

Didnt work. Switch popped in with key out but it has continuity all the time, key in or out. Two things, original one did not have the tab which would make it sit further in and i noticed tge white fin down when key was out. Had to use a small screw driver to pop it up. I watched a you tube video where a caddy guy was having the same issue. Said the white fin is too large and needed to be filed down.
So i looked at my old switch and noticed that the piece that covers the ign. Bolt was cut off so i did the same to the new switch and it works now. That bolt boss sits up 1/32 of an inch keeping the switch from going down all the way.
