On an 86 automatic vet, the FPR is making a tapping noise like a lifter would if out of adjustment. This is a NEW non adjustable regulator. The old TPIS adjustable one did the same thing only louder. The injectors have been bench tested 4 mo. ago. Anyone have ideas or suggestions on the cause or solution. Thanks in advance.
Oh, it also has had the fuel pump changed as well.
The fuel rails do not have the same clicking that the FPR does with a stethyscope on them. It is definitely in the FPR but I seriously doubt two could be faulty. Q. does the fuel return line or vapor have any significate action on the FPR in normal operation. Thanks
Is it the FPR or the acculamator on the fuel line that is making the sound? If you put a screw driver on the acculamator and listen at the handle end, you might find that is where the problem lies??? Just a thought.
I've had them "rattle" ; sounded like a high speed tapping.....best I can figure is the plate in there can get a vibration going and flutter. I just wack the case of the fpr a few times while it's running and it shuts it up....
