383 starter issues
i have a 90 coupe that i am putting a 383 bottom end in. i got the kit mail order and told the guy i needed the 153 tooth flexplate, well he sent me a 168 tooth flexplate. not normally a problem but it is all balanced for the 383 crank. has any one else had this problem, and what was the cure. other than ripping the motor back apart and sending it back for them to rebalance with correct flexplate. any ideas are greatly appreciated.

i know the starter is the solution, but does anyone know what car the starter i need came in, or part # for a starter that will be compatible with that flexplate. i know that 168t is the most common, but i don't know for sure which part to ask for. i have a feeling if i go to my local parts place and ask for a 168t flexplate starter, the guy at the counter will ask me what kind of car it's going into, then i'm back at square one. gm parts is open again tomorrow morning and they will probably have an answer. :hurray:
