Rear Window Defroster
Just purchased a 1992 LT1 coupe. Didn't get an owner's manual. I'll try to locate on online. My back window appears to have some type defroster (lines in the glass???)
If so, how do I turn on the defroster. There is a switch on the panel for a mirror defroster. Can't seem to find a switch for a rear window defroster (if there is one.)
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Re: Rear Window Defroster (jimswhite92)
The mirrors and rear operate off the same switch. In '92 they didn't offer a rear window defroster on the vert. Rather than make two different consoles, one with and one without rear window buttons, they combined then and just marked it mirror so it would be interchangable. :yesnod:

Re: Rear Window Defroster (Wheelman)
No glass or defroster on verts until '94. Prior to that it was a flexible plastic window. Took care of that last summer. :D

Sorry with my description. I have a coupe with a glass back window. Does it defrost... Real novice here

Yes, it should defog with the mirrors. As said above, there is no separate switch just for the defogger.

Re: Rear Window Defroster (jimswhite92)
Inspect the wires that attach to the ends of the hatch struts. They often get brittle, overheat and break, bingo...no more defroster. Hope that helps.

Appreciate the help. I'll try next time we have a frost. I am anxious to see if it works. :) :) :)
