So after years of being beat to death by a 85 Z51 suspension i decided to redo the suspension Front is getting an HMP spring and single adjustable ride tech shocks. I pulled the front spring out and it seems a lot more different than I would expect and some of the mounting doesn’t seem stock. The brackets are stock but there is a matting of some sort on top of the spring where the rubber mounts usually are.
spring to the right is what was in the car, is the Z51 spring really that different or is it some older aftermarket version? It’s beefy to say the least…
All the rubber pads have been pulled off that spring-done to lower ride height. Looks like a home made replacement pad in the effort to lower the ride height. There should be a code stamped into it if it's a stock spring. Otherwise an unknown aftermarket.
