According to my helms service manual, p. 6-260, it appears that the 2nd and 3rd gear lockout (low speed start) is where your yellow seal plug is located but the two black wires connector for the solenoid lockout is wrapped in the main wire harness above the transmission. So, yes, I would think you need to unplug the connector behind it (to the right of the loose plug). Also, unplug the one above and to the left of the solenoid. It, too, ties into the main harness on top. Also remove the speed sensor at the rear bottom of the transmission. ..PM sent.
Sending it to Bill B. After driving my friends very low mile zr-1 and 96 lt4 cars(yes, he has a few) I know see how a properly zf6 should feel. And yes, my hydraulics were fine and bled.

Let me know if you want to sell those Corsa mufflers to help offset the trans repair cost

Dang... Anyone in New Mexico with a ZF6 I can try?
I replaced my master and slave clutch cylinder on my ZF6 and I still wonder if it isn't quite right.
Good on you though for getting your ZF6 done right!

there was a time when aftermarket slave cylinders were made incorrectly and many people were having issues. stock original parts may be better than aftermarket many times. everything will appear to be fine. not true.
