Sometimes in the morning I notice that when I put the trans into
reverse, the car rolls backward slightly. It does it right as the shifter is going into gear. Have also seen it going into first.
I guess this is due to the clutch not fully disengaging with the pedal all the way down. Is there an adjustment I need to make?
You are probably low on fluid. You can add brake fluid to the clutch master to get you by, but you probably have a leaking clutch master cylinder, leaking clutch slave cylinder, or both.

:iagree:
you have to remove the ECU to get to the clutch master.
Thinking about symptoms some more, I'm not certain that it
the clutch isn't disengaged because with the clutch in and
shifter in gear, the car doesn't move or try to.
It just happens right as the shifter is going into gear. Its very
slight, the car rolls backwards about 1/2".
Also it doesn't happen every time.
Is there any way that putting trans into gear cause a
small torque on the driveshaft?

When I put mine in gear it moves too. I think that might be normal. I don't know why it does it and it's only about 1/2 inch so I never worried about it to much.
