Ordering a set of American Racing Headers for the C4, and I was wondering, does it always come with the EGR tube fittings? Everybody has generic pictures for either 88-91 or 92-96... so called ARH, gave them a part number for the 1992+ with Cats and they said it comes with the EGR. What's the key to ordering these with out the EGR? Prefer cats (not a must) and no EGR (that's a must) and 3" full dual system and that's why I ordered the 92+ as I didn't want to go down to 2.5" at the end. Lot of you guys have these headers, so I thought I'd ask.
My only 2 gripes on ARH is that
1. They are needlessly heavy. I know they brag how tough they are built but i could really care less about ‘extra thick mounting flange bar’ when im trying to compete with lightweight alum block ls motors
but im sure some old man out there ‘wants em heavy’ bc he feels that makes them higher quality.
2. next, they didnt clear the swingouts of my canton road race oil pan , like my TPIS 1 3/4” headers did
i had to use spacers to space them off the head slightly to get the down tubes to clear the swingouts
otherwiae good
i had mine swain tech coated (thru arh) and they also added some extra o2 bungs for wide base sensors
The LT1 headers have a single threaded bung for the AIR setup, not EGR. You can easily plug them if ARH won't make a set without. The port is small unlike the L98 setups.
Thanks everyone, got it settled, wish they had separate part numbers for different configurations so this wouldn’t be a PITA. ARH wasn’t very helpful to be honest, I was talking with a sales guy and since I was ordering from Summit to use my 10% SCCA membership discount, he probably didn’t want to put too much effort into it, can’t blame him.

That might be helpful for me if they are tucked in close as I don’t have the kickouts and would like to move the engine 1/4” to the right (with the motor plate).
I installed ARH long tube headers on my 94 Vette last winter. Here is the information and part # I used for no emission ARH long tube headers on my 94 Vette...CORVETTE C4 AMERICAN RACING HEADERS
SKU: C43434WC Options1 3/4" Primaries- Non-Catted X-Pipe- C43434NC
Hope this helps you out!
In spite of all of the installation "annoyances" ... these headers out performed the Hookers that I had on before the ARH's ... I picked up about 7-8 hundredths in my 60' times and about a tenth in the 1/8 mi. ... it doesn't help that the C4 chassis is pretty tight in the bellhousing and firewall/frame areas , but they're worth the hassle if you drag race your car .....

They were quicker than Hooker 2151s by one and a half tenths in the quarter on my car.

I am installing on my 95 convertible (6-speed)
had all 5-pieces of (no cats) coated at jet hot,
drivers side fits with oil filter although the collector is touching the oil filter, tried a hi torq starter from Ecklers that doesn’t fit convertible 94,95&96,
trying to source a mini starter, not having much luck.

ARH long tube headers 1994 Corvette
those are the same that I am putting on my 95 convertible six speed,
drivers side fits but touches the oil filter,
and I am trying to source a mini starter with no luck, is your car manual? Where you able to use your stock starter?
I have the ARH since I started this post a while back, couple of tips... use the Remflex type gaskets (they are badass and have a little bit of thickness to them) and for the oil filter, use a different adapter (slightly offset) or shorter filter.
For the starter, sent you a message, as I went through a starter ordeal back in 2021 and came to some conclusions that the aftermarket starter manufacturers didn't realize at the time:
I had my stock starter and did not have any clearance issues. Now, the O2 bung on the driver side header was welded in at a bad angle and made the O2 sensor almost rub the bell housing on my 6speed car. I would have to loosen all the header flange bolts to swing out the header to replace that O2 sensor. That was my biggest pain with install.
I want to post a follow-up to my issues with the ARH 1 7/8" headers NOT clearing the swingout of my commonly used Canton Road Race oil pan.
On my next build (I re-used these headers), I was able to dent one of the tubes on the drivers side and get it to clear without using spacers. Denting it wasnt easy either.
I dont recommend header gasket spacers, as I did get burn-thru of the exhaust headers gasket on the center 2 tubes thin divider wall.
