Has anyone installed one of the Porsche single din head units (PCCM or PCCM Plus) in a C4? I have seen it talked about, but can't find anything with someone who has done it. I really want CarPlay in my '88, non-Bose C4. Looks like my only "quality" options without cutting up the dash are flip out units, or the PCCM that Porsche put out. They aren't cheap, but MAN they look good:
In my recent install in my 89 I did not modify my bezel at all to install a double DIN unit. The installation of the head unit was actually one of the easier parts of the system installation.
I did trim the sub dash tray that the factory head unit slides into, but only very minor trimming.

Do you have pictures of the head unit installed? And what kind of head unit?? Most I've seen that don't have the bezel modified don't look quite right.
What is that blue box behind info center next to relay? Trying to figure out unidentifiable plug on my 87. Do not have that box in that location.

Installed an Alpine iLX-507 and speakers in a 1993 Corvette. Installer was able to add the necessary resistors to eliminate the SYS message that was flashing on the dash. Added a custom 40th anniversary startup screen for the head unit. Shout out to Auto Sound and Security in Willoughby, Ohio for the installation.
My 96 is the same. Modern head unit with apple play fit like it was meant to be there. It’s wired Apple Play so also have a cplay2air dongle to make apple play wireless. Works great.
