1990 6speed shifter diagram
Greetings all,
I have just install a 90 ZF6 in my 86 4+3 vert.
I'm setting in the car and rowing through the gears and try reverse but it's not there............am I missing a lift ring like I had on the 4+3 or what's the deal?
Could someone post a diagram of the 1990 shifter for me? I don't have the 90 FSM .......... yet.

I have the ZF6 black tag.
Apologies if I didn't include that info earlier.
I believe what JD1964 is showing is the shift pattern on the 94 and up ZF Blue Tag.
What I need is a diagram of the shifter itself not the shift pattern. I need know if and where the reverse lockout goes.

That is the truck transmission posted above. The C4 Corvette's reverse is all the way to the right and down. Some are scared of hitting reverse instead of 6th as 6th gear is to the right and down, but reverse is one step further out. Check out zfdoc.com for lots of info on the 6 speed. You might even find the diagram.

Since you mentioned earlier ZF, maybe the 'lift-ring' is busted and missing? It could also have had a shifter replaced and there wouldn't be a 'lift-ring' with most after-market replacements.

Not all ZFs have a lock out Collar, my 93 Didn't have one but a Friend also told me he suspicion that my transmission came from a other year
