Default Omaha NE machine shops

Can any of you residing in the Cornhusker state recommend any reputable machine shops you's trust an LT1 block with?

Well, Jeff you made it!

I have used Charlie's Speed up in Blair several times... no block machining yet but had some heads redone and they are working well. They are my pick on my LT1 block in a few months...:)

They have a flow bench, dyno, and seem pretty fair on prices.

I have also used Rojam for some simple cleaning, tapping, etc-they are in Omaha on J Street (?)

I thought you already had a built LT1???

:)

Not quite there yet, I fly out of the UK this Sunday. I'll probably be in Omaha, actually Bellevue(I bought a house) in about a week and a half. The vette is on it's way across the pond. I have to pull the motor :banghead: to fix a bad oil leak with the rear main seal(two piece with adapter). Long story ......... Anyway if I have to pull the motor I'm sure as hell not going to put that two piece seal crank back in. I'm debating a 396(actually 398 .040" over), I have a couple of other threads on this. If I can reuse my rods and find a descent and reasonable machine shop I maybe able to do it. We'll see once I get settled in and get the car there.

I see.

I'm in your part of the country right now...

I have heard of folks with problems with the adapter and switching to one style or the other probably makes the most sense. Oil leaks are absolutely no fun.

If I can offer any assistance let me know. My engine is out right now...awaiting my CNCed LT4 heads for install...and my return.

:)
