Right now I'm running with 2.59 gears on my 86 auto. Within the next 6 months I will have all the free/cheap mods, long tube LPE headers, a ported plenum, runners and base(possible big mouth), 1.6RR. There is a chance I might change the cam to either a LT4 or 219specs. The only gear I'm thinking of changing to is a 3.07. Which(2.59/3.07) will give me a quicker 1/4 mile and what would an estimate of the vette's overall top speed be?

3.07 will give you the quicker 1/4 speed.... throw in a nice TC and you can really get the 60ft down....
I dont think you will run out of gear with a 3.07 before you run out of power..... But i could be wrong..... Your somewhere in the 160 range.... 160 is let me tell you :D (well i lied 155)

I'VE BEEN LOOKING AT GETTING SOME GEARS TO AND MINES A 85 I'VE BEEN LOOKING AT 3.75 WHO WOULD I READJUST THE SPEEDO TO GET THE RIGHT SEED I KNOW ON THE NEWER MODELS YOU CAN JUST USE YOUR PROGRAMMER WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO??? THANKS!!!!!
