My Caliper bracket bolt has been chucked from my spindle causing a grinding noise when I brake,
I found the problem to be the spindle caliper bracket missing a bolt.
the bolt says 10.9 but there are many 10.9 bolts.
I'm not sure what size I need to get because I can't find anything online This is the bolt I'm missing
Wheel speed sensor looks to be for a '91+ car so the caliper bolt is M14. GM# 14084051 and you need a washer GM# 14080254 but many likely buy an M14 - 2.0 X 47 or very close and a washer to match. I believe 47 is a correct under-head dimension.
*** The bolt is still available from GM. try local? The washer is also but by a different #. A dealer should be able to reference the original
On the 1986 it's unfortunately a course thread bolt, so its more prone to back out and loosen, causing issues. Needs red loctite, although I drilled mine and installed safety wire, as such a failure could be dangerous and very expensive. M14 course thread hardened bolt and washer, 84 has smaller M12.
