Hi all,
I am building a '92 Corvette for a road race car. As such, it'll have full cage, 6 point harness, etc. Subsequently, I'm removing everything unnecessary, including the airbag and the DERM module.
Will the car still run without the DERM module or will it think it's been in a crash and not fire up. Is there a way to bypass? I've searched the forum without much luck.

My recollection is that if you remove the DERM, it has a pass through for a 10 amp ignition feed wire. Look at the wiring for the DERM in the FSM and it will show you.
OP, if you are going through all this work, I suggest you go ahead and just rip the factory harness out and build your own. Removes a lot of dead weight. And cleans everything up.

Yep, 100% the plan this winter. Standalone ECU, etc. I recently have been given an opportunity for some essentially free track time at gingerman in May and won't have time to fully rip all it out and re-wire things, but was already in progress of gutting many other things, including the DERM and CCM. Hoping to at least shake the car down and break anything thats gonna break before finishing the build through the year/winter.
Based on your username, are/were you racing in Chumpcar/Champcar? Or is it just a coincidence. That's what I'll be building this car for.

I ripped my derm related stuff out and sold it.
As Chump says, if you build your own harness its very simple. So far…i dont think there is a way to avoid using the ccm. but when you redo the harness you only use what you need.
I have been avoiding this stage for well over a year on my build. 😉

Ran Chumpcar when it was in its infancy. Got tired of the constant rules change and moved onto another series.
You don’t have to keep the CCM, it just depends upon how you want to access your system from troubleshooting. If you are keeping the ABS system, you will want to keep the CCM. If not, strip it out. I think I have maybe 7 or 8 wires running my CCM, power/ground and then serial data.
