I grew up in the Rock era. I have spent 40 years working in Engine Rooms in Boats. In the 1980's when Car Stereos were good I had them. I still have my McIntosh Amps and 4 Speaker lab Super 7s in my shop. My Ears are permanently Ringing. The last thing I need these days is a Loud Corvette. My project 1990 came with Flowmasters on it I just built a duel 3\" Exhaust to feed into them. They sounded good as long as you liked them loud.
So doing some research I found the Walker Quite Flow SS line with some good reviews. So I have installed a pair and have gone for my first drive and really like them. Model 22719. They are longer than the Flowmasters and take some creative fitting to make them work. I had to put them crooked to make them clear the tires. The pipes were cut of flush so elbow's could be fabricated directly to them. Same for the Tail Pipes.
The Tail Pipes are some cheapos I got from eBay. The Walker 22719 is a production Muffler and not the same finish you would expect from one of the name brand aftermarket brands. They are inexpensive at less than $100 each from Summit. The Tail Pipes were $25 each. Anytime you are running a 3" exhaust it's not going to be quite. But these are much more bearable on a highway you might be able to talk or even listen to a Radio again. They have a nice low rumble at idle and good when your on it.
I am one of the few. I dont prefer a loud corvettes either
Basically it becomes a cop attention getter any time i wanna get on it
cops flick on their radar when they hear a loud car coming
i am running an arh header / x pipe , 3” sysyem with dynomaxx super turbo mufflers - with the the lt1 tips (i believe these were made unique to the 92-96 corvette. Now likely discontinued)
Well, include me also, I cannot stand loud exhaust. The kit is expensive, $1200-1,300 bucks but I went with the Flowmaster Force II in my 96. It's slightly louder with a deeper tone and idles nice with a pleasant mild tone. Better than stock and noticeable. Takes about 500-1,000 miles though for the Flowmasters to settle in with their sound. So they will eventually get louder and deeper which is good.
I'm a bit of a Tweener- I like it quite when cruising, no drone but I want an explosion when I punch it. I have some Stainless works headers and a Corsa out the back. Works for me.
