Headers with '85 converter...
Are there any headers that will bolt up to my '85 converter? I see most systems are designed for '86-'91?

I think TPIS is the only one to make a bolt-up header and Y-pipe for the 84 and 85.

Hooker headers and the Hooker Y pipe with a 4 bolt flange welded on, to bolt to your converter, will work like a charm. 1984's and 5's are the same in this respect. Good luck, and...

All the L98 systems will bolt up correctly at the heads, but its at the converter flange that the difference lies.
You have to weld the flange from the 85 onto the new headers so it will fit.

Re: Headers with '85 converter... (Vette_Crazy)
The TPIS headers bolted right up and fit well. They Y-pipe fits well around the 4+3 fluid pan, but I am unsure about fitment around an auto. I recommend some heat reflective tape or sleeving on the fuel line where it passes close to the pass side header and you will have to zip tie a few of the wiring looms out of the way. Other than that it was fairly painless.
