Default How to lock poly lock rocker arm nut?

Noob question. Adjusting my valves. Rocker arm nuts are the poly lock type with the Allen set screw inside them. How do you lock these down after setting preload.

Does it work like a jam nut where you jam the Allen set screw against the nut by tightening the Allen screw while loosening the nut?

Do you just tighten the Allen set screw down by itself?

Do you tighten both the Allen set screw and nut down at the same? And if so, how do you factor that amount of rotation of the nut into your preload spec?

Thanks!!

Loosen your allen screw to enable your preload, once the preload is set the run the allen down until it stops. Hold the outer nut with a wrench so it doesn't move then tighten the allen screw.
Should have been instructions with the 1.6 rocker set you purchased. The torque would be in the instructions. Other wise call the rocker manufacture. They will give you the details.

Got it! So sorta the jam nut method. The nut is held stationary while the Allen set screw is tightened!

Previous owner is who bought and originally installed this LT4 Hot Cam kit.

Thank you!!

Set your lash with the nut. Tighten set screw. Then bump the wrench thats on the nut. This locks it all.

After tightning the set screw take your palm and bump the wrench that you used to adjust preload with in the tightening direction. It should move slightly and lock everything together. You can also just turn it slightly with pressure if you prefer that way Either way works, its just what your most comfortable doing.
