Here's a good one for my 100th post... I was on I95 today, accelerating hard to pass some slow traffic when suddenly my engine just cut out. Dead. I pulled over. It'll turn over for a fraction of a second and then just cut out again. No smoke or anything from the engine. What would you guess is going on here? I'm thinking ignition, but I just changed the majority of the ignition system a few months ago.
Assuming compression is fine (why woudn't it be suddenly)
1. Fuel
2. Spark
Which one is it? :)
Check your fuel pump fuse and your injector fuses. Can you hear the pump turn on for about 3 seconds when you turn the key? If not turn the car off, wait 10 seconds, try again. Slap a fuel pressure gauge on the schrader valve and see if you have pressure.
Just called around and found out they're towing everybody today because of the possibility of snow tonight. They towed me to a repair shop so I guess I'm just gonna have them look at it.
Wow dude, those MF'in Delaware cops must really not have anything to do - or the state/city needs money real bad. They didn't even wait a day :cuss Definitely check for fuel flow, then spark. :seeya
