Default Tornado Air Management System

There was a TV infomercial about an air channel device called Tornado Air Management System. It's supposed to make your car run more efficiently, and increase HP of your car. Anyone bought it, does it work?

I'm thinking about buying one of these just to see how it effects my car. If I get it, which is probably unlikely, I'll run it in a test and tune session at the track and I will get the exact numbers and diiferences(if any) with runs with and without it. I'm leaning towards it does not effect the car that much and a better investment would be an open air filter lid.

hey guys, i own a shop with a dyno and we tried this tornado piece out...we got a +4hp(consecutivly) on a 94 lt1...i had doubts also but we ran it 2 times with and two times without..I do not really think you will notice the 4hp increase when you install it but it may help you all around...hope i answered some questions...

p.s...i do not work for the tornado co..lol

What if the car was running a little lean and this piece of crap was just enough restriction to even it out a little? You saw what you saw and I believe you. Whatever, it ain't an optimum solution.

I've seen those adds and here is what I observed.
1. The little propeller is a flat sided blade tha is parallel with the air flow.
2. The first instance w/o the [ snake oil ] device, is laminar air flow into the carburetor. [This is good]
Thus the laminar flow, past the flat blades that are parallel to the air flow, resulted in the propeller wiggeling a little.
3. The second instance, the [ snake oil ] device takes energy out of the normal vectored air flow and creates a highly turbulant spinning air flow. This makes the same little propeller spin like crazy. Now ask yourself, which situation flows the most air into the engine?
4. It may mask a problem with a carburetor fuel droplet siz, but you will never see them on a properly setup tunnel ram.
5. D port exhaust ports work better since they promote a less turbulant air flow (can we say more laminar).
6. Taller narrower intake ports work better because they are less turbulant (can we say again more laminar).
7. I will give them one advantage, they are easier to install than the intake manifold gaskets that have the fine mesh screen in them.

What I really think though, is that the big oil companys have been supressing this invention, but thanks to the internet and cable TV infomercials, "The Truth Is Out There". :jester

Spend your money on getting it right. Tuneups, cleanups, adjustments, etc.

This device actually works by removing excess money from your wallet, thereby reducing the combined weight of you and your car and increasing performance! :jester

I think they are the left over diffuser plates used on the CrossFire intake manifolds. :yesnod:

The thing is nothing more than an air restriction. And by spinning it you'll only end up blocking more.

ANYTHING you put into the airflow upstream of the combustion chamber just robs the airflow of energy and velocity. Simple thermodynamics. It's total garbage.
