I have a 94 vette that has been making some noise that sounded like a lifter or rocker arm not adjusted correctly. I replaced the lifters, adjusted the valves and using a stethoscope narrowed it down to the water pump and timing cover area. While trying to get to the timing cover I removed the crank pulley. I watched videos and people had to pull the crank pulley off either with a puller or pry it off. Mine after I removed the 3 bolts I was able to rock off easily and pull it straight up and out.
my question is how loose should the pulley be on the crank hub? I can easily take it on and off by hand which leads me to believe it is too loose. I don’t know if someone removed material from either the hub or the pulley but I thought it was supposed to be a press fit, not a slip fit. Can someone chime in?
