I've never tried it before but if it is the bumper that needs adjustment and not the hood... The front fascia can be adjusted through a hole in the center top of the impact bar by inserting a bar into the hole and prying outward (to increase gap between hood and fascia) or inward (to reduce gap). Like I say, I've never tried it, that's straight out of a service manual. There are shim plates on the front of the crossbar tie member which can added to or subtracted from. (The crossbar tie member is the aluminum or steel brace across the front that connects to the front of the right and left frame rails) The bolts attaching the front fascia to the crossbar tie member I believe have the nuts tightened from the engine side of the crossbar tie member. If these were to come loose the shims could vibrate out of place since they simply slide in an out with the bolts going through U shaped slots rather than holes. Someone who has worked with a front bumper could tell you more. I do not know what all is involved with changing the shims.
