90 Corvette Won't Start
I've had four occasions, in six months, when it just quit while driving along at about 40 mph. If it sits for 2-3 hours it will fire up and run perfectly until the next time. I was thinking the coil might be the culprit. I installed a new coil, with the battery disconnected. It turned over normally but would not fire. Thinking it might be a defective new coil, I put the old one back on. Same results, will not start. ??

Will do. I have recently installed a Holley retrofit in-tank fuel pump. It had been running fine before the replacing the coil, but anything is possible. The car has run 32,000 miles with the old in-line frame mounted fuel pump, but I couldn't stand the whine.
