Help, Wipers stopped working,
The wipers in my 86 suddenly stopped working, I just hear a clicking sound coming from the wiper motor when I switch them on.
I discovered this Grey wire cut? It’s one of the three wires coming out of a plug in the side of the wiper motor. (You can see the plug in the photo)
I followed the other intact grey and orange wire and they lead under the battery and inside of the cabin.
Where would this wire lead too? I cannot find the other side of it?
I’m thinking this may be the reason.
?? They were working, then they weretn and you suspect a wire got cut and caused that? Did you cut thst wire? Was it somplace near a moving part that could have cut it? Do you have mice under your hood?

Thanks for the help, I'll have a look at it today and see if that where it should be connected too.
There is a short harness that's connects to the body harness and then the motor.
This post has a very good snapshot of the short 2 wire harness. You could fabricate that if needed. The wires are purple & gray. You can likely find them on your car if you look at the image and know what you're looking for.
The two wire harness is still plugged into the bottom of the wiper motor. I think I need the female portion of the plug to connect to the single grey wire that’s cut.

From an '86 FSM - this is how the short 2 wire harness is routed. For 'most' electricals they're identified gender wise by the terminals and NOT the plastic connector shroud.
**** An eBay search for 12016892 would get you the short harness if you don't believe you can fabricate a repair using just wires and terminals.
