95 Corvette, 52,000 miles. My Service Ride Control (SRC) light used to stay on occasionally - for a minute or two - but always turned off. Now, the light is staying on. I have read several posts here so I jumped the #4 and #12 connectors on the ALDL and turned the key to the on position. The SRC light did not flash a series of codes as I expected. Instead, this is what shows up in the speedometer area:
C12
1. and 3 dashes
4. and 3 dashes
9. and 3 dashes
A. and 3 dashes
1.0
Other than that I get no codes. Shouldn't I get a code related to the FX3?
Just printed the pages from the FSM. Thanks for the reference. I suspect the RR actuator is bad. I replaced the trashed upper shock bushing about 5 months ago and I'll bet the actuator took some punishment before that.
Why do the FX3 codes show up on the DIC, but not on the speedometer area?
I grounded pin 3 to pin 4 three times, for two seconds each time, to clear the FX3 codes on the DIC. Did it with key "ON" and key "OFF" because I didn't know if it mattered.
23 code is gone but 22 is still there. When weather cools I'll pull the right rear shock again and diagnose. I'll be going to my second novice track event in late September and would like the FX3 system to be functional.
Quick update: I bought a used right rear actuator on eBay for $149 plus shipping. Installed it this morning and the code is gone along with the message on the driver center. Rebuild cost was around $165 so I took the chance on a used one. I'll keep my old one in case either rear actuators go bad again, but for now the system is working.
