Default Need help getting FX3 code

95 Corvette, 52,000 miles. My Service Ride Control (SRC) light used to stay on occasionally - for a minute or two - but always turned off. Now, the light is staying on. I have read several posts here so I jumped the #4 and #12 connectors on the ALDL and turned the key to the on position. The SRC light did not flash a series of codes as I expected. Instead, this is what shows up in the speedometer area:

C12
1. and 3 dashes
4. and 3 dashes
9. and 3 dashes
A. and 3 dashes
1.0

Other than that I get no codes. Shouldn't I get a code related to the FX3?

For a '95 isn't FX3 diagnostic/code display accomplished by 'grounding terminal 3' of the DLC? See 3G-2 Book 1 of the FSM.

FX3 isn't integrated with the CCM, through the Serial Data line, which is what you are accessing. You need to use the method mentioned by WVZR-1.

Thanks. Just crossed 3 and 4 and got codes 22 and 23.

22 is Right Rear Time Out. Would that be a faulty actuator? If not, what might it be?

23 is Loss of Vehicle Speed. What the heck is that? Speedometer is working.

22 - is something binding up. It's not traveling the full motion on initial check.

23 - If you start the car more than 3 times and do not move the car this code will set. Drive 3-6 feet and the light will go out.

Shame the 22 code is for the rear, takes more work to get to, but it isn't that bad. Clear the codes and see what comes back.

Just printed the pages from the FSM. Thanks for the reference. I suspect the RR actuator is bad. I replaced the trashed upper shock bushing about 5 months ago and I'll bet the actuator took some punishment before that.

Why do the FX3 codes show up on the DIC, but not on the speedometer area?

Once again, FX3 isn't integrated with the CCM, through the Serial Data line. It is a stand alone system.

I grounded pin 3 to pin 4 three times, for two seconds each time, to clear the FX3 codes on the DIC. Did it with key "ON" and key "OFF" because I didn't know if it mattered.

23 code is gone but 22 is still there. When weather cools I'll pull the right rear shock again and diagnose. I'll be going to my second novice track event in late September and would like the FX3 system to be functional.

Thanks for the help.

Quick update: I bought a used right rear actuator on eBay for $149 plus shipping. Installed it this morning and the code is gone along with the message on the driver center. Rebuild cost was around $165 so I took the chance on a used one. I'll keep my old one in case either rear actuators go bad again, but for now the system is working.

Thanks for the help and advice.
