I have the parts in the garage ready to begin the installation. I have searched the archives and have gathered a great deal of good tips on the installation but what special tools do I need and where do I get them? In particular, where would I get the wedge type to install the seal? thanks
Re: Special tools for Hot Cam install? (Bgreenard)
93Blackrose, we have close to the same combo. Have you ever taken your car to the track? If so, what was your time?

Bgreeard:
We have an 8th mile track here. Kinda sucks, but oh well. My times are below. These times are with the Hot Cam Kit, shorty headers and flowmaster cat back. I did the heads this fall and never got a chance to get back to the track. I really need to work on those 60' times.
Re: Special tools for Hot Cam install? (93Blackrose)
93Blackrose, 8.8 1/8 mile time is respectable. It seems your having traction problems, are you using street tires? I had about the same 60ft times until I tried Drag Radials. My times are about 1.90 on average. I would definately like to know what your improvement is with the heads.
Re: Special tools for Hot Cam install? (Bgreenard)
Bgreenard,
Those time are with street tires. The origional GSC's that came with the car believe it or not. I currently have 22K miles on the car. (its a Gararge Queen) I plan on replacing the tires this year. So with some new tires I should pull some good 60' times. The heads should help too. I have to wait till april to run it again. What does you car run in the 1/8th mile?
Re: Special tools for Hot Cam install? (93Blackrose)
93Blackrose, I havent raced my car at a 1/8 mile track since I lived in FL, 3 years ago. I think the best I got was 9.1- 8.9 with excessive spin(Street Tires), before the hot cam. I raced at the Memphis Motorsport Park while at a National Corvette Convention last July. The car ran a 13.50 in 100+ degree heat. The best 60ft time was 2.00 with 25lbs in my Drag Radials. I can usually get a 1.9 or better. I was thinking about head work and 4.09 gears for this coming season. Dont want to do NOS because I'm almost at 92,000.
