Default Renegade Manifold Alert!

Hello to all the CFI owners. CFI OWNERS BEWARE! I was called today by a customer that said he ordered and paid for a Renegade intake manifold from Eckler's corvette. I find that IMPOSSIBLE since I personally pulled ALL our tooling for that manifold from Eddie Motorsports back in early 2019. I looked at Eckler's corvette site today and indeed they are selling the manifold and called them. They (customer sales) said they were for sale and drop shipped from Eddie Motorsports in Cali. I proceeded to tell him that that is MY tooling and Eddie Motorsports should not be selling anything with our name on it for any reason. I called Eddie Motorsports today to verify any sales, but they are closed.

I WILL be calling them in the morning to find out if they are indeed making our manifold some how without our permission. If so, my attorney will get involved quickly. I want to think that Eckler's is selling something they do not have and their site is totally wrong and out of date for whatever the reason.

Ecklers is still showing it on their website with a listed price. They don't mention whether its in stock or a potential delivery date, just what we've come to expect from Ecklers. Eddie Motorsports also shows it on their website. There is no price or delivery mentioned and nothing says the site is current. Their Facebook page is current.

I ordered one 1 or 2 years ago. they sent me an email saying it wasn't available. I called them about taking charge off card and they gave me the run around. took about a month to resolve. is this a way to create cash on their books. I'll never buy from them again.
this is what the current web site has.

UPDATE! I finally got a hold of EMS in Cali and asked about the Renegade manifold and if they were stocking or selling the manifold. The sales guy was a little shocked and said that they haven't had that manifold for sale since 2019...Good call EMS, you are correct. Then I told them that Eckler's was saying the Renegade is in stock and being drop shipped by EMS. The sales rep looked it up and there was a pause and then a huh?! Sure enough, Eckler's shows it in stock online and being drop shipped from EMS.. He said that they were going to call them and tell them that this is not true. I will take that with a grain of salt for sure. The real funny part is when the sales rep told me the story of our company (not knowing who I was) and made this crazy *** story up about us and why the Renegade was stopped being produced. I just laughed...

So, the FACT is, if you have paid money to Eckler's for a Renegade that is NOT available, please call them ASAP and get a refund started. I hope that anyone that did this used a credit card to make the refund go easier and just stop payment on the card as a fraudulent sale which is what they are doing. I will be contacting the my customers about this that called me tog give them the correct information concerning this.

Any info about the Renegade to become available again WILL be posted in my Blog on my site which WILL be the official notification on the subject.

Just a little update on the Renegade project: Had a bit of a haggle with the local foundry and I think I will do a few first article pours at a more reasonable price. This is the same local foundry that poured the manifold back in 2008 when we started this project. I think depending on a few things I can get the pours down a little more, but have to do a few to see how it goes on the labor side of things. Now for the kicker. Just when I thought it would be safe...I have been trying to get a hold of my local machinist who had done the first few hundred manifolds back in the day with no issues. That task has proved to be rather hard since he sold his shop, machines etc... I tracked down the new shop owner and is thankfully local as well. BUT...they can not machine the manifold like it should be done IMO after talking with them. They do have all my G-code files that I paid for a long time ago and the fixtures that were used in the manifold machining to locate the manifold correctly in the CNC. THAT is proving to be hard to get back right now and I'm NOT happy about this situation. Again, I may have to get my attorney involved which is even more cost to me.

Just when I thought it was FINALLY a go, I get kicked in the face again. I haven't given up just yet, but it is getting to be a PITA. I will have to make other updates to keep everyone informed. If I can't find a shop to machine the manifold now, I won't do any pours, it wouldn't make any sense to do that without a machinist lined up. Hopefully I will make some headway on this. I have another machinist i=n mind, but the cost would have to go up again, for shipping and me flying out there with a manifold to show what needs to be done on the Renegade II. More time and money.

On a side note: If anyone wants to have their TBs bored out, now would be the time to do that. We are doing 2" and 2.15" and also RETAINING the balance ports (which is a huge plus) to make it easy to balance the TBs. We also, depending on what service you want, are installing roller needle bearings vs bronze bushings for a very nice set of TBs. They are double sealed and good for up to 15psi of boost if you want that. Contact me via email or number below if you need more info on this new service.

Business hours are: 9am to 5pm Arizona time. Closed weekends and holidays.

Thanks Ben, it's been a struggle to say the least. I did talk with a machinist in Texas today and that sounded promising. Hope that you and Greg can get together on his ECM project, he may have my HAM board delivered by now. Get with him for details. BTW, have you gotten the 84 into the 11s yet? I'm working on it with my 82.

Hi Tom,
I'm unaware of Greg's ECM project, I'll hit him up!
I'm sure my car is going faster than ever before now that it has the smaller/looser converter and a few refinements to the tune, but I haven't had it at the track to prove it....

Just out of curiosity, I have a 1992 TBI Silverado with the 350. Do you do work on these throttle body units... I remember the SS454 had bigger injectors and I think Holley offered after market throttle bodies that are upgrades to the stock ones.. Thanks again for your efforts...

Want one rebuilt aa a better flowing and functioning unit, Stock was 210hp, did Edelbrock's cam, springs, intake manifold, header, Flowmaster exhaust, shift kit so now its making about 260hp in a single cab 2WD step-side. All I did on the TB was the spacer and K&N air filter. Thanks, do you have a website? Cheers
