Default Tiny battery drip, wipe or return?

Hey all, can I please get a bit of guidance on my battery and some new seepage from the vent? It is hot summer in Dallas/Ft Worth with temps in the 103-105 range. I also keep the car on a trickle charger when I'm not driving it.

I have a Duralast Gold, group 75 and I got this new DLG battery in January after my old one leaked enough to create drips, run down the side of the battery and hit some of the wires below the tray. I caught it pretty quick and cleaned it up with no issues. I put the new battery in and put a drip hose over one of the vents.

Yesterday, I was doing an inspection and I notice some "pooling" around the vent and the hose connection. Maybe a single drop worth that was resting on the battery casing with no drips down the side however some moisture on the inside of the tube, but I cant tell. I'd love to find a side post, group 75 AGM but that seems impossible.

So, should I relax, wipe it down and keep and eye on it or return the battery for a new one?

You mentioned 'trickle charger' and that is NOT what you want. A 'trickle charger' likely created your last issue. There's a difference in a maintenance 'float' charge and constant 'trickle charge'.

Thanks WVZR-1, you are correct and I "mis typed..."

To be clear, I have the car on a 1.5 AMP, maintenance charger.

I would recommend you confirm that the charger is not applying excessive voltage to the battery while connected, and that it is cycling off and on as it should. This sounds as though it could be an overcharging situation.

Live well,

I'd return it while you can. Why not?

You might ask questions BUT what's the fine print of the battery warranty? Is it a 'once & done'? You had the opportunity in January to buy AGM and didn't.
