so driving on the highway yesterday like a dope a went from 5 to reverse, grinded a bit but went right back over to 6 and it was fine. As I was pulling out of a parking lot afterwards I could not get it to shift into reverse, with the engine on or off. Before this I’ve never had any issues shifting, always smooth as butter. Any ideas of what happened? Also If worst comes to worst what am I looking for price wise from a transmission shop?

The only thing I can think of is that you piened over edge of the collar or gear and you now have interference. But I think that would be a fairly long shot it would take a helluva hit and if you made into gear on your mistake it would be testiment to the transmission with reverse being a Non-Syncro gear
Have looked at the Clutch master cylinder my 93 when the master is low Reverse is the first casualty.

I will take a look at the master cylinder thanks! I hope it’s just an odd coincidence. It didn’t seem like what I did was anything too harsh
Few Trans shops have the Tools or know how to work on a ZF 6 speed. Yes it has a Syncro in the Reverse Gear. ZFdoc.com is your friend for these transmissions
