Hello all,
im new to the corvette world and picked up a 94 lt1 that had been sitting for about 4 years. I put a new optispark in it to get it going and just got it on the road today. After taking it out i relized it had some issues. The car idles very high (about 1200 rpm) and it feels as though it’s cutting spark or going into limp mode whenever i floor it in any car. In first gear it will rev fine up to about 4000 then feels like it goes into limp mode or kills spark. I tested fuel pressure and that tested fine. The gas is old but I don’t think it’s causing this as I’d accelerated nicley up to around 3000-4000 rpm. The car does through a SES light after driving for a bit. Does anyone know any places to start with these issues? Any info is appreciated. Thanks
Since Its been sitting, I would try pumping out the old gas and changing out the fuel filter. Also remove the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line and check for gas in the line or a strong gas smell. If so the regulator should be replaced. You can google the paper clip method for checking the codes.

I tried pulling the code when it was showing, but the paper clip method didn’t work. It looks like I have on obd1 port. I’m pretty convinced it’s some sort of spark/ ignition issue. I had a fuel pressure gauge on it and everything checked out. I did notice I stopped for gas and when I left the gas station, it pulled hard through first and second gear and was idling fine. Then at a stop light it kicked into high idle again and throw a SES light. Could this be a knock sensor?
Not sure if you are the person I met at the car show in Long Island. I would recommend getting a data logger (DataCat). Good advice from the other poster. I would also check the FPR.
