I took the cover off windshield wiper motor and there was a wire that attached the two pieces together Can anyone tell me what that wire is for it broke off just b Wire coming off park switch Was attached in the red circle
arely attached
UPDATE nothing bypassed , the wire replaces the contact that should have touched that spot.
The only thing I can tell you is that replacement covers are non existent so some people bypass that circuit board by installing a jumper. I can only guess that it is for the park switch.
It looks like nothing is bypassed and they were missing the little spade clip piece that touches the pad when assembled. Your red circle is where it should have gone anyway (like the one next to it) maybe it was not making good contact and they just hard wired it. I think that is the case here.

Just solder it back !!!! make sure the wire does not get entangled in the blue round piece that spins. If I remember right these 2 pads / connections are problematic, that may be why it was soldered. While your at it you can clean that other pad and contact post it looks like the have buildup on them.
Thanks for the pics. Did a major tune up the past couple of weeks. Painted the valve covers and tpi runners and stuff. Found out this morning 7 hours away from home that my wipers didn't work. Found a 3 wire connector on top of the wiper motor not connected. Thanks to these pics I"m pretty sure of where it goes. Must've came undone when I removed the left valve cover. I'll find out at lunch which one it is.
