Noob question, probably, and I couldn't find any recent threads on this. I want to get new radiator hoses ('96 LT1 auto), and while the one I've seen recommended is a SamcoSport one ( https://www.corvettecentral.com/2445...hoCXNYQAvD_BwE ) I know Corvette Central prices include the Corvette Tax.
There are more affordable kits on eBay but a) I'm sure they're grade A Chinesium and b) one comes with way more hose sections, and another comes with only 2! The hell?
Anyone ever use the cheaper option? If so, why the different number of hoses? I have no problem spending up if the Samco one is the most trustworthy thing for the car, but if it's a crapshoot either way I'll save the $100.

Go to the parts store and buy them. It's just a car

I recently bought a set of the Samco hoses off Corvette Central. It took over two months for them to ship it - I was not happy about that, but, I also wasn't in a hurry... the car has been up on blocks for months as I get pockets of time to work on it. Probably just as well to buy some hoses from a local parts store that are not the Samco hoses. If you do buy the Samco, they have a separate set of clamps for them, as well.
Go to NAPA or the GM dealership -both still carry Gates hoses
This seems like a great idea....thanks! Probably coulda thought of that myself if I had two brain cells to rub together I suppose. Work and kids are a helluva drug...
Thanks for all the responses, I think I am on my way.
Not sure who Gates have make their hoses, as they shut the plant down here in South Carolina years ago. But, they are damn good . Fit perfect. I just did the upper and lower.. 93 LT1
