Hello, I have a 1996. The person I bought it from only had 2 sets of door keys and 2 sets of ignition keys. No key FOBS. I notice when I open the door there is a security warning that flashes on the dashboard.
I assume my car must have a factory alarm in it. Also... does it have keyless entry? If so... how do I figure out what key fob to get?
Just find a fob for your year, once found more than likely used you then just do a program though the DIC in the dashboard. It's just a series of put this and hold that. So once you find your fobs it's an easy process to program yourself with available You Tube research
And yes you have PKE

The fobs are very hard to find now, there is no supply of new fobs left, just a few for sale very expensive used ones. To answer you question, any C4 fob will work on your car, assuming both your PKE module and the fob are still working. There are two types of fob, single button and two button. If you have a coupe but a one button fob you give up the ability to open the rear hatch remotely. Spend some time reading about the system in your owner manual; also make sure your PKE receiver is working correctly, go to the section of your manual for programming a fob to the car. Do everything on the list until it tells you until you get to step 5. If the light starts flashing your PKE unit is probably fine. If not fix the problem before spending a lot of money on a fob.
A PKE fob looks like this
