Got my crank in, got my harmonic damper (dorman chinese part), my pistons, rods, bearings, and my clutch kit.
I am going to get my rotating assembly balanced at a local machine shop, hoping to ensure vibration free smooth revs, and to hopefully add some high RPM road racing reliability.
I am curious, what all parts should I bringI to the shop as part of the rotating assembly for balancing?
Obviously the crank, rods, pistons, flywheel, and harmonic damper, but what about the crank pulley? Pressure plate, friction disc, etc.
Is there anything else they need? What about the crank timing gear?
When I had mine done he needed 1 piston, 1 rod, and 1 set of bearings and rings. Also the balancer and flexplate. Thought it was odd just 1 but im only a basement machinist. I did leave all the parts with them though.
I did weigh each piston and rods. They were all +/- 1 gram. The scat rods had the weight sheet but I did it anyways.
