Any tunnel-ram base that can be matched to the 1206 gasket is a candidate for this type of application.
Holley may not do one for the Stealth-Ram, but their sister company Weiand certainly does. It just doesn't have the injector holes milled into it, but the bosses have been cast in. http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLin...MSM/f5954.html
All-in-all I think it will be a lot less money to go this route than to get a Hogan sheet-metal intake.
It would be interesting IF Rance had one that would go to the 1206...the work is already done....

Excellent info. Please post this in TECH TIPS so we don't lose it in the archives.

I can't vouch for the vailidity of numbers but have this and other post info on my notepad from posts by many members
Sorry can not give you in info or help except to encourage you on doing this because most C4 and C5 owners I know and have talked to have always dreamed of being able to have a true 427 or 454 under their hood and still have all the great qualities of owning a C4 or C5 corvette. Good luck
Have you guys considered the ACCELL/LPE PRO-RAM "Victor Jr style" EFI intake system? I bought mine from http://whiteracing.com/fuel.html for $520. I got P/N 74139, which includes the manifold, and machined and drilled fuel rails. I made my own plenum box, like the one that John Meaney made for his 1300 HP 1989 C-4. I went one step further, by increasing the plenum area, using an Edelbrock "Squarebore-to-Dominator 1" spacer", and then port-blended the two openings, and then mounted the large plenum box on top. I offset mounted my 58mm ACCELL/LPE T.B. on the plenum box, so that the throttle actuation wouldn't be obstructed. This setup is going on my 6-speed 88 Monte SS, so I don't have the hood clearance issues that the C-4's have. HTH's This is another alternative to the HSR, and this manifold WILL DEFINITELY port to FELPRO 1206's, with ease. :chevy
that's a nother good suggestion, i had dismissed that type intake because previously i had only seen the elbow to mount a throttle body and didn't like the way that looked. it doesn't look like we'd have room for the carb spacer.
Wow. As usual, excellent feedback from fellow Forum members. I'm going to explore a couple of your ideas on the intake. I did not realize the Stealth Ram base had those issues. I've saved several of these comments and will take them up to the shop to discuss next time I'm up there.
mmmm, yes... future plans... expensive future plans.
DiabolicalDave, do what that guy did, but use your 427
and get bigger turbos. bah, add a super and a bottle. then see whoes king.
(my crazy ideas.. sheez)
The Oil pan is going to hit the cross member up front. You'll have to cut your Morosso down to a 1/4" clearance on the weights of the crank, plus your FelPro gasket this will yield about 1/4" gap between the pan and the frame.
I had to do this with my Hamburger pan to make it fit in the car.
Regarding Intake. I am running the Miniram easy install. There are better intakes regarding flow, but you'll be looking at a hgh rise hood if you change.
The miniram is very frendly for porting. We did a minram and matched it to a raised runner brodix head and flowed 280 through the intake and through the head together. But these are the bid numbers. Dont forget about the velocity a short runner intake builds. This is where the HP is at not just the big over the nose number.
Thanks for posting. I had not visited your site before. You are the voice of experience. I will use your advice. Your cam is not too far off from what's in mine. Thanks again. I might contact you directly by email as we move along on this.
No problem. John Meanie and Mike Moran are here in MI. Mike did the quadzilla in his Prostreeter, what a beast thats all I can say.
These are two great guys top notch. I sat with Mike talking about my 434 settup and 23 degree heads. He recommended a 18 degree for my next jump in power and was quite impressed with my tameness of the 434 and getting 22 mpg.
John is the programmer. He started the FAST before it was sold off.
The FAST is in my opinion a great aftermarket ECM if purchased with the wide band O2.
I have personnally programed my buddies 434 in Florida and it only took us 3 tries and he was driving it around with no problems. It is easy to adapt to if you got the concept.
I am still running my OEM 7727 Same as your 1990 vette. It is working fine, but I am finding that I could get a few more HP maybe upwards of 20 or so with better tuning and a Wideband O2. I may opt for the FAST, but with a price of 2000.00 I'm wondering if a tenth in the 1/4 is worth it.
