Default Rod bolt question

Hello all,

I was rebuilding the bottom end on my 95 LT1 when I ran into a bit of a snag, ARP does not sell a bolt kit for the corvette LT1 main bearing that includes the windage tray. So my question is two fold,

One: Am I able to leave out the windage tray?
or if not,
Two: Are the stock main bearing bolts TTY or could they be reused? As I am also not seeing any main bearing bolts on summit that have the studs for the windage tray.

this is a good question. While I have reused bolts in the past it was a non-performance engine and a low budget. You don't want anything coming loose and flying around in there. On the other hand a windage tray might fall under the "really need that" category. Sorry but I don't have an answer but a following this thread and maybe my reply will bump you up the list. Good luck with your project.

Keep the tray.
and as far as the bolts go, if you measure them for stretch that would tell you if they are ok. But personally I've reused alot of these bolts on boat engines. I make sure they are ok to reuse, then use traditional torque specs instead of TTY. In all the books I have they list the 3 step torque as well as the TTY specs. I've never had an issue. Would I do this on a 500hp engine, no id buy new. But for stock or mild your fine.
