Can anyone tell me if and how you can get the VATs numbers from a used CCM for a 1993 coupe?

If you knew the VIN it was removed from and had a relationship with a 'locksmith' some of them may have a relationship with a provider. A GM dealer isn't supposed to do request for anyone that can't supply registration, insurance certificate will work and matching personal identification. Perhaps the easiest would be to use a VATS Interrogator with the CCM installed in the car. You need a 'work key' cut to a code that allows rotate of the cylinder. If you had a key now that rotates you could knock the resister out of it and use it. It's likely junk now anyway.

Or get the ECM reflashed to disable the VATS.

I've got a good VATs key for the car. But the CCM is bad, and I'm trying to buy a new one, but the bone yard doesn't know the VATs number. But they do know the VIN.
Do you know if the VATs interrogator will work with my current key to the used CCM? Or will my key interfere?

You can use the interrogator with your current key. As you have removed the ignition switch from the operation with the interrogator. After you get the correct resistance, you can get a new key cut using your old key template on the new resistor blank.

What are you doing with the other options possibly programmed into the CCM for your car?
The more pressing question, what are doing about the mileage that is on the new CCM?

You could try it 'once' and then knock the resistor out of it and use it + an interrogator to find the correct required. If the salvage yard has the title they might have a 'relationship' with a dealer who would do the key request for them.

'93 ECM calibration options below. Unless it's somehow different than the preceding TPI ECMs? It's how I disabled the VATS in my EFI swap using the older 7730 ECM... just unchecked the box for VATS.

Correct.

The OP is running a CCM which is step #2 in the communication process. The ECM is step 3, after the CCM and ECM do a little back and forth communication. Only then does the CCM allow all the parameters for operation. You can see a further example of deleting it out of the ECM here and how it worked out. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ity-light.html

My plan for that is/was to have it programmed for correct mileage.
It sounds like you might have a better answer.
